Art Journaling -
I started "art journaling" years ago. I didn't know that was what it was. It was a difficult, dark, time in my life. I found myself drawn to scrapbook paper, images in magazine. I cut and pasted in a notebook my children had not used. This simply act of cutting and pasting of papers and images was the only thing that brought my any semblance of joy. I look at those pages and I remember the darkness, and yet there was beauty and truth in each page coming from within.
Through those simple beginnings I found art journaling videos online. I discovered other women who used color and image to make their way thru the darkness and document the good, the bad, the ugly of the every day. And it helped. Acknowledging the yucky, yuck helped to make it bearable, managable even. Looking back now thru those beginning I can remember where I was and see the light that was in that darkness.
I found my way thru the darkness. I discovered the light within my{self}.
And now?
I art journal every day. I "CREATE" everyday. This brings me joy. This brings me to myself. This is my "awareness of this moment" RIGHT NOW! And this daily practice keeps me centered. Brings me in touch with where I am, where I am headed. and brings the simple pleasure of JOY to my every day.
My friend Anna Meade wants to bring this healing, this awareness to more women in need. She has kits ready to go to organizations to distribute the kits to women who are in need.

I have loved reading the posts about Healing He[art]s and seeing the common threads we all have with art journaling. <3
