Random glimpses into the thoughts of a woman- searching for life's answers - or maybe just asking the questions and living them. Trying to live creatively and authentically. Learning to BE - HERE - NOW.
I am one of the artists in Connie's 21 Secrets Workshop. I feel so honored to be included in this workshop with all the artists. They are an amazing group with so many creative ideas and techniques. I want to do all of them~
I learned a technique years ago to take magazine images and alter them. I consistently go back to this technique. I've created gifts, atc's, and journal pages using it. It is a highly ADDICTIVE technique. After I created my video for the 21 Secrets Workshop (which you can join for only $59 for 21 workshops!) I've found myself continuing on with my altering and journaling. This photo is an example of one of my pages. I've since added more to the page. I will post the finished page.
I love the unknown when I am doing this. Exactly how will it end up? I am often surprised and always pleased with the results. I've created about 14 journal pages in the last week or so. I LOVE to journal and this is one of my favorite ways.
There are 20 other fabulous artists sharing their journaling secrets. I can't wait to begin. Registration is open now and the classes start Friday, October 1. Come join us in the fun!

I know I have this great photo of a hummingbird by the feeder in my back yard. I tried to find it for yesterday's post. I looked through my digital collection searching for it.
The problem? I have a gazillion photos - all backed up on cd's and dvd's and stacked neatly in a case. But how on earth do I find that photo? I also have photo album after photo album after photo album in chronological order stacked in a book case. They sit there waiting for me to do something with them!
It is an overwhelming task.
My mom, who lives with me, has her photos organized in little envelopes by date. Thousands of them!
HELP! I'm being swallowed by photos that I can't organize.
There has got to be a better way.
What is your secret to organizing photos?
Don't forget you can sign up for the 21 Secrets Workshop NOW!
Looking out my bedroom window, I often glance out my window. There is a beautiful bush by the pond that hummingbirds often visit. When I glance out the window and see a hummingbird it ALWAYS stops me in my tracks. I am enthralled and thrilled to see them each time. I get this sense of wonder, just like a small child contemplating a dandelion in the yard for the first time. Below is a photo of the bush they visit.
What stops you in your tracks?
What makes your heart stand still with awe and wonder?
Have you ever felt that the world is full of promise, that it is unfolding as it should? That is how I've been feeling lately. Seems that possibility and hope are blooming in my life.
I'm setting priorities - taking time for art, yoga, exercise. Breathing thru the unexpected, unpleasant surprises. Attempting to not REACT but observe before taking action.
This piece I created surprised me. I didn't see the flower appearing until I turned the picture. Funny how you can miss something so obvious just because of your perspective. Life lesson there I think!
Hope your day is filled with possibilites!
Don't forget to check out the 21 Secrets Workshop next week!!!
